78. Societal Patriarchal Programming

I know this episode title is a mouthful – to be honest I used to cringe when somebody used to say “the patriarchy” to me.  But the truth is, the way we think is highly influenced by the society we grow up in.  Does this mean we have to “burn down the patriarchy?”  – NO.  But it does mean that we want to be aware of what we think and understand why we think it – YES.  What matters here is understanding those thoughts that come unbidden, they don’t come because there is something wrong with you, they come because that is what you have been socialized to think.
