As young girls, we are socialized to be “nice”. In fact, we spent a vast amount of time focusing on how to stand up for ourselves and ask for what we want, but at the same time we try to do it in such a way that we don’t come off as being bitch. The truth is, most of us (unwittingly) end up choosing to be unhappy and dissatisfied, rather than appear as “bitchy” in a hard situation.
